RELIGIOUS
EDUCATION Students from Grades 1-11 who are attending Public School and are registered in the Parish are enrolled in the Religious Education Classes to become knowledgeable in their faith. Classes
are held on Saturday mornings for Grades 1-6 from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM. Classes
are held on Monday evenings for Grades 7-10 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM. Students
in Grade 2 are prepared for First Communion.
Attendance is required on Saturday mornings
and
3 Parent/Child meetings on Sundays. A Retreat Morning is held the
day before their First Communion. First Communion at St. Cecilia is held
on the first Sunday in May. Sacrament
of Confirmation is received in Grade 11 with instruction from the
Pastor. RCIA
(RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS) This
process is for the following persons: A
person who has never been baptized. A
person who has been baptized in another Christian tradition and now is
interested in becoming a Roman Catholic. A
baptized Catholic who has not received Eucharist and Confirmation. Initial
Interview can take place anytime with Inquiry Meetings held in September
for anyone who is interested . At
St. Cecilia, the RCIA meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
with Baptism and full reception into the Community during the Easter
Vigil. ADULT
EDUCATION Adult
Education Classes usually take place in January and are held for 8-10
weeks. Subject Matter is discussed with the Diocesan Collaborative and
varies from year to year.
Classes
for Adults who have never received Confirmation are usually held in the
Fall with four evening classes and Rehearsal. Confirmation at St.
Cecilia is held in November on Monday of Thanksgiving week. (usually the
third Monday of November) |
